First Christian Church in Weirton, WV,
December 5, 2010

On Sunday December 5th we returned to play a Christmas concert at the First Christian Church in Weirton, WV. The sanctuary of this church offers very good acoustics. The musical timing, dynamics, and quality of performance were all markedly better in this setting. One could see the orchestra, the singers, and the people all enjoyed it. The orchestra received a standing ovation at the end of the concert. Both Hannah and Suguru and the Baroque Quartet performed special pieces. In a church setting you can expect enthusiastic carol singing – and the singing went very well. Emily used the church’s grand piano to play “Christmas Time is Here” for another unique addition to the PMO repertoire. Thanks to Kirk and Kirk’s mom for helping us return to the Weirton area.

After the concert, the PMO joined the audience for a reception. It was quite a feast, with small sandwiches, cookies and vegetables. I talked to two audience members who had travelled from Cadiz, Ohio to see us play in Weirton. Folks were glad to enjoy our Christmas performance, and thanked us many times.
